Each installment features a photographer discussing a piece of equipment they can't do without—and a photograph they couldn't capture without it.
Photographer: Mark Alor Powell
Equipment: Sunpak RD2000 Digital Flash
"The Sunpak RD2000 is a great little flash to put in your pocket with a good, strong wallop of light. Perfect for on-the go-portraits or when traveling light is key.
I spent a day with some Mexican Charros (the Mexican elegant cowboy), and had to move fast most the time while they roped horses and cows in very bright light and extreme dust. This compact flash was perfect to fill drastic shadow, and also easy to carry (I used a cord and triggered it off camera). It gave me great flexibility of making portraits without thinking about natural light or the burden of heavy flashes."
