I come to Meural every day, happy to be here. Even when it gets hard - in fact, especially when it gets hard (which is, quite frankly, most of the time at a startup). I’m not sure if I lucked out, or if it’s something we’ve somehow created, but I really really like the people I work with, and I’m damn excited about spending my days with them.
We’ve all seen each other, you know? Seen each other at our best, at our worst. We’ve all made mistakes, and made silly suggestions and good ones too. We’re all people who strive to do better, to be better - this manifests in the group as trust, I think. It glues us together, and keeps us moving forward.
We laugh a lot. We also encourage, soothe, challenge and applaud each other. Occasionally, someone gets upset, and needs a bit of a break. This is where the power of communication comes in - when it boils down to it, 99% of misunderstandings are due to poor communication, right? We put immense efforts into being good communicators. A lot of it is about empathy, and listening. So much can come out of simply listening.
So, what makes a team work? Perhaps you have the answer. For me, I only know that I come to Meural every day, and every day I’m happy to be here. Even when it gets hard - in fact, especially when it gets hard.
And the awesome thing? Excellent team so often means excellent company.
