What’s your background?
I was born in Queens but grew up in Pakistan, where I lived until I was 14. I came back to the U.S and attended high school in the city and went to college at Rochester Institute of Technology where I studied Marketing. After college, I landed a role as a Search Engine Marketer with Razorfish, one of the leading digital agencies around. I learned a tremendous amount through my experiences there and most recently decided to take my skill set solo in order to help start-ups with their digital marketing campaigns.
What is your role at Meural? What does it involve?
I joined Meural as a Digital Marketing consultant in March. My role is to develop and build strategies around user acquisition. In order to help Meural be successful I have to learn the product and potential consumers really well.
I believe that any product has the potential to be successful - especially something like the awesome Meural digital frame - if you are able to locate and target the right audience across the web. Usually that is where the challenge lies because there are so many advertising platforms making a play for your dollars.
My overall goal is pretty clear in that I have to help Meural become a market leader.
How did you come to be a part of the Meural team?
I was referred to Meural through my lovely sister Kanwal. She had been in touch with Sim and got me connected with her after determining the type of skill set Meural needed for their launch campaign. I went in and met with Vlad and Sim and we chatted about the different strategies that could drive success and the rest was history.
What’s the hardest part of your day?
Finding good WiFi haha. Its very easy to find spaces to work out of in the city, but its quite a challenge to get work done when you do.
What do you most enjoy about working with Meural?
I love working with the Meural team. Absolutely fantastic group of people. Everyone gels together really well and is really open to new ideas.
Lastly, what’s on your Meural?
I would use Meural for photos of nature. I would like my living space to have a connection to the outdoors.
